Programme Partners
Lady Mermaid Empowerment Centre (LMEC) — Lead Programme Partner, Uganda
One of Uganda’s leading organisations working at the intersection of HIV, gender, and community health. LMEC is IMS’s primary programme partner, co-implementing the CISU-funded Integrated HIVand Education Programme 2026–2029. LMEC is also the first independent adopter of the PEIS model — reviewing the evidence and choosing to integrate PEIS into their own communities.

Sky Rise Hub — Hosted Initiative
A community-based maternal and newborn health initiative co-founded in January 2025 and hosted by IMS. Led by co-founder Elisa Dunda, Sky Rise Hub targets adolescent and young mothers in Kampala — one of the most underserved populations at the intersection of education, health, and economic vulnerability.
Funders
All IMS funding from our international donors is channelled through AIDSfondet — Denmark’s leading civil society HIV and development fund — which administers grants on behalf of its donor partners in Uganda.
AIDSfondet — Denmark
AIDSfondet channels and administers funding from multiple international donors in support of IMS’s programme work. AIDSfondet has been a trusted partner in IMS’s development since 2023 — providing not only funding but technical support, network oppotunities and institutional strengthening.
CISU — Integrated HIV, SRH and Education Programme Funder
CISU (Civil Society in Development) funds the four-year Integrated HIV, SRH and Education Programme 2026–2029, implemented in Uganda [by IMS and LMEC] and Malawi, through AIDSfondet and LMEC. PEIS is the programme’s flagship community education financing model.
Erik Thunes Legat — Denmark
Erik Thunes Legat is funding IMS’s education and PEIS development work since 2024, channelled through AIDSfondet and LMEC. Support has strengthened the PEIS evidence base, the Learn Box pilot, and IMS’s model documentation capacity.
Bygma Fonden — Denmark
Danish foundation funding IMS’s programme work since Jan 2026 — channelled through AIDSfondet and LMEC.
